While I had updated the TDKJoker Lover's journal about my absence, I thought it was high time to add one here.
For about two weeks I was almost laptopless, having spilled wine all over it when I accidentally tripped on the power chord. A lot of nerves, followed by bouts of triumph and relief later, my laptop is in decent working condition. The only thing really zonked out on it is the keyboard, which I've since remedied with a usb keyboard.
And it might not go to sleep, I'm not sure. It doesn't over heat, so that's a really good thing. So, with that said, that's what I'm on right now.
I do have my in-law to thank for allowing me to borrow her little notebook. It just felt really strange to be online on someone else's machine; which is the reason for my quietness. It's strange, I know.
But, I didn't come back so empty-handed! I was finally able to update a piece of art I'd been working on up until that point, so that felt good. It's nice to see that people like it, too. Always makes a day go better. Just a little bit.
But, while I was offline, so to speak, I ended up getting into Thor. I admit, I'm a Loki-girl #lokisarmy and all that. I couldn't help it-- the writing for his character, and just Tom Hiddleston's description and adoration for the mythological god was, and is, fantastic. He did amazing in his portrayal.
...Which gets me onto the topic you've all heard about: The Avengers.
Now, when I finally did find out about it, my spouse and I went on a Marvel Movie spree. We re-watched Iron Man 1. And then we introduced ourselves to Captain America and Iron Man 2. Both of which where really enjoyable films. It definitely made me a fan of the good ol' Cap. Growing up, I never really read a lot of comics, and just thought he was an overly patriotic man.
But that movie sort of fleshed him out for me. Absolutely adorable.
Anyways, back on topic. Avengers.
Saw it twice, which, for my spouse, is a rarity-- especially for a super hero movie. Loki's the bomb. I can't count him as a 'villain.' And, I'd love to say why here, but if any of you haven't seen Thor, I don't want to accidentally give spoilers. I also haven't had a 'villain' push as many of my buttons this much. It's ridiculous.
And then there's Agent Phil Coulson. You see him in the other movies, here and there, but with the Avengers, you really get a better understanding of him. He's just awesome.
And adorable. (#coulsonlives)
And now, a meme quiz thing.
--
1. Do you have a pet?
Unfortunately, no. A few years back, I used to have a standard rat named Charli. She was a bit of a biter, however. Her partner in crime was my spouse's adorable Dumbo rat, Shadow. Both loved peas and mashed potato. They also high-fived for yogurt drops.
2. What is your favorite fandom at the moment?
Marvel Avengers, I am head over heels for everyone of the Avengers and all my feels go to Loki and Agent Coulson right now. (Keeping this, because it's so damned true.)
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, in any type of dwelling, where and what would it be?
I'm not entirely sure. I just know that I would need to be around a good amount of trees and water. Or at least with a good way to get to those things.
4. If you were only allowed to eat one food for an entire year, what would you choose?
Oh god. ...Instant mashed potatos? It's the first thing that popped into my head. You're talking to an amateur foodie, here.
5. What do you find most difficult when you're trying to create in your chosen art-form (whether it be writing, drawing, mods, etc)?
I find that my attention span and focus has a tendancy to go out the window; along with just how frustrated I can get when something doesn't come out how I see it in my head. Or at least, not exactly how I see it.
I also have a large problem with realism. Any time I try, it comes out looking like a weird, off-kiltered animation style.
6. Relating to the above question, what do you find easiest about your chosen method of creativity?
Gesture sketches. The very basic stick-square posture.
7. What tends to set you off on rants?
A lot of things. surprisingly. Inept customers at work, my co-workers, distress in the world, bigotry of all sorts.. you name it.
8. What is your favorite scent?
Ohh that's hard. I'm going to say freshly cut grass. And bread that's baking.
9. If you were magically transported to live (as yourself) inside a book or video game, what book/video game would you choose?
That's really tough. I'd love to be in a variety of 'realms.' I think though, I'm actually going to go with Harry Potter.
10. What is your favorite dessert?
I do enjoy sweets, but I don't eat a lot of dessert. I love the idea of dessert, but whenever it comes to that portion of the meal, I'm usually full.
But right now, because of the warming weather, I'm going to say barbecued fruit kabobs with honey.
